It's not a clashed die, you can see from the pics in the link @lawest shared.

 Thanks cherrypicker. This picture is what lawest is talking about. I have similar pictured here. The 1954 looks clashed maybe with something else or maybe it's a die break. What do you think?

I think it may be a die chip, but I don't know for sure. Maybe someone more knowledgeable on it will chime in.
