A Question About 1972 1c Master Die Doubling

Oijogja Pillar of the Community United States 715 Posts	Posted 01/17/2020 5:43 pm I've read and seen pictures of the master die doubling present on most 1972 cents. However, for how this manifests on the date Wexler says it shows on the horizontal bar of the 2. The coin I'm looking at looks to have some doubling in the upper curve, plus a little on the 7. Under the tip of the two isn't gunk, I'm pretty sure it's part of the doubling, be it normal or no. Still not so sure about the 7, but maybe it's just die chips like you say.
