More interesting notes. So I have a request so you do not have to always think of one to post. Can you post a shot of say what you consider your 5-10 most beautiful/colorful notgeld. Then give a tiny history of each?

@Collect82 - these are mainly serienscheine notgeld dating from 1921. There are a couple of verkehrsausgaben in amongst them, dating from 1920. Your best piece shown here is the 2m note from Suederbrarup (bottom centre) of the 7th pic. You can see that the majority of the pieces are in what I call 'au-unc' condition : they were predominantly issued in 1921 to meet the demand from collectors of that time. The pieces are from a whole load of different villages, towns and cities. Hope that helps?

There is also a set of 3 from Austria - face values are in 'heller' . All the others are 'typical German notgeld'.

I really appreciate it. I figure organizing these by city is the way to go?
Anything here worthy anything more than the typical $1-2?

@Lucky Cuss - yep, I know - they are a really nice looking set. I am now pointing out the difference between your 50pf note and a much scarcer one. (Always best to put the notes near one another in a related post I think). Keep an eye out and there will hopefully be a translation or two, as well &

Regarding the "devil" that appears on these Ennigerloh notes. it may be unrelated but an enn is an incantation employed to summon a demon.

@scopru - As this post has got longer and longer, it does get harder not to duplicate things a bit, as I have so many interesting notes to talk about I do forget which ones I've already covered. You ask about my top favourite 10 pieces......the Papenburg notes showing poor, thin Deutsche Michel having to pay his taxes is probably my top notgeld piece. It isn't scarce but it does relate the story of these economical times very colourfully. My other 'best favourite' pieces are the material 100m notes made of linen and silk. I believe I had the best collection of those in the world and I collected every different one I ever came across for over 45 years. That collection of mine ws the basis for my 'Marterial Gems' catalogue book about them. I'll have plenty of other notes to show as I had over 20,000 different. Some of those are sold but I have the scans/pictures still of most f my pieces. I'm still awaiting the translations for that Ennigerloh note and variant. It is proofing very difficult task...... @Lucky Cuss - could be interesting - lets see what those little verses say. It might throw light on what they are all about.

Also notice the owl in the upper left corner. This might be the one to have translated to gain insight into the demonic symbolism that Ennigerloh notgeld display.
