.....so obviously a patriotic note of some sort.....

This may not be a perfect translation, but the gist of it is: "Obediently I extol the Scout doctrine - Fidelity to the Fatherland and Honor to God."

Great @LuckyCuss - In my 'German Gems - The Encyclopedia of German notgeld' book, I have :

'Obediently I vow to the Scout doctrine, loyalty to the Fatherland, honour to God'.
The 50pf note also extends the virtues of the scout movement. that note states:
'To bravely help my fellowmen in every misfortune. I am always prepared.'
The 'Pfadfinderhorst' was a boy scouts movement. so this note is from the Altenwied scout base.
Not too many of these notes exist today, so they can be seen as scarce types.

On the reverse sides, both these 50pf & 100pf notes state:
'On the paths of virtue into the heart of the Fatherland'.
Don't forget about the times that these were issued in and the economy and state of Germany and its People, having recently lost WWI.......they needing to lift morale and portray a strong country with strong people.

The face value is the 200 millionen mark same as the front, but it has been changed from an original 5 millionen mark note. I think it is very interesting and just the sort of thing you can stumble upon if you are an avid notgeld collector!
There is always something you will find that is 'different' and that then sparks further interest.

Another striking looking red note from Bochum again, for a 100 millionen mark:

Here is the reverse side................very, very strange to have the face value written as 'Millo-Mark'. I think it is the only note I saw like this and I also think they only did it so that it lined up with the 100 numerals. But surely, they could have used a smaller font and just stated the correct 'Millionen'?
I like things like this....a bit querky, so a nice note to have in a collection.

Its a lovely looking banknote.

Happy New Year for 2021 to you all. The German serienscheine are now 100 years old!! I will show some more pieces of those over the next weeks and months...........

A lovely example of the great artwork / graphics that can be found on German 'serienscheine' notgeld. This piece is from a set of 5.

Here are the fronts of all 5 pieces from the set:

German-Notgeld-Collector-Of-46-Years,-From-Uk.

They usually have an overprint on their reverse sides as shown below on this 25m note:

German-Notgeld-Collector-Of-46-Years,-From-Uk.

It looks like a piece of beautiful and colourful 'serienscheine' but (with the overprint that is either in black or blue) it is in fact catalogued as an 'Inflation 1922' notgeld issue/set of notes. If one looks closely, the dates of '15 Dez. 1922' & '15 Oktbr. 1922' can be seen in the overprint. The face values are in marks so relatively quite large in value in regards to these colourful notgeld issues which are usually in pfennigs. (I'm comparing them to the 1920 and 1921 notgeld issues on the whole).
