what is this? I have searched everywhere and find no reference, yet Charlton lists this on page 60 of the 2019 edition. will someone please enlighten me, hopefully with pictures?

There's also a photo. It shows the doubled legend. My guess is Small / Large.

Edit to add: SPP wrote about this in the Journal a couple of years ago.

1960 NY Giants and DBM, thank you both for the information. The pictures were great DBM. Why do the Charlton and the CCN both just list the 1908 as " small letter obverse" ? With no explanation at all. I'll make the additional explanation in the Charlton myself. Thanks again.
