While they were reasonably plentiful in their day (1850s and 60s mainly), it's a very unusual coin to find in circulation given it's age and small size. An interesting fact about these is that they are the smallest silver coin the US has ever issued. Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 02/07/2020 10:49 am Lightest coin we ever issued but not the smallest, the type 1 gold dollars were smaller ( Three Cent were 14 mm, gold dollar was 13 mm) but heavier due to the higher density of gold.
