Well the trip started off like any other trip with the long drive to Victoria stopping at Bendigo on the Thursday for a drunken night at the mates house before heading off to Kingower Friday morning, arriving there we unpacked the truck and headed off to the digging to swing the coils in hope of finding the retirement nugget with the first sud grammar coming out of the section called the burn then they got bigger from there, about 16 various size nugget were found with the biggest being 11.53 gm. Because I'm having trouble with photobucket (the photo's have loaded but won't initiate on the main page) I can only give you some of the gold photo's (that is the gold on the scales to show you the weight)that I have been taken on the trip,oh and there were a few nugget's I missed taking photo's of due to one thing or another so I got about 12 of the 16 nuggets that were found. Just to start as there are a lot of photo's that won't load I'll show you the biggest to come out of the ground. Next the second and the third biggest then when they solve the problem at photobucket I'll post the rest. These will have to do for now and thanks to the luck of Tim (first 2) and Norm ( 5 gr ) as we all had a fantastic week of nugget finds on the goldfields. So don't forget to swing low and slow and stay safe.

Good hunting Oh P.S. I have some coils to sell if any one wants to buy them, these are all Coiltec coils that have found gold but with the GPX5000 only using mono's I have these for sale, there are over 2000 dollars worth of detecting coils that will fit any double de detectors. 24" round DD a 17" elliptical DD and a 14" pro round DD (good for SD 2000 to the 2200 and GP extreme to 3500,4000 to the 5000 don't need them ) all you have to do is give me an offer and pay shipping and there yours.

SWEEEEET! Finds again Harry. Wetting my appetite. Will be heading off the end of this month to my property and a stop at the gold spot. Will hope to have my underwater detector before I go So I can hit some of the deep spots that do not get hit by the amateur panners etc. Also around my property where the sand meets bedrock to see if anything old is laying about. Glad to see the great finds harry and sorry to hear of the auto problems you had. WOLF

G'Day Wolf great to hear from you mate, you should be onto the good stuff after reading the information I sent you,so follow your gut feeling and you may find gold. Car problems are always on the cards when you travel long distances so I was expecting something but not that much of a something LOL but fixed now and yes a few thousand dollars out of pocket, lucky I was carrying extra ,this trip the power steering played up (not fixed yet)It has a wine in it (the drunken thing that it is )so in the next week I'll have to attend to that too. I won't drag this out with more individual photo's so these will be the last of them and these are the total not including the last three or four gr I didn't take photo's of also a photo of one of the comforts that we couldn't do without and that is the log fire As promised this is the log fire As you can see It's well set up

O.K. as promised these are photo's of the kind of rubbish that we strike on the goldfields with the first photo of the small steel bits and no I don't use a discriminator as they tend to discriminate out the gold as well, This next one is of the large buried items, This next one is of the buried lead and I swear blind they had WW3 and didn't tell us And this last photo is of the better non gold finds, Also from that last photo this lot of collectibles As you know there a more thing in the ground apart from coins and gold and you must dig every signal oh and that little whats-it's second from the right is a coach stud for the canvas,so there you go rubbish from the goldfields. Just remember to swing low and slow and be safe all

Harry, I never cease to be amazed by the nuggets you find. You're awesome, my friend. As you may recall, I started buying a little gold back in 2005 (lot cheaper then) and I've just kept at it - well...I'm taking a break right now - waiting for it to drop some before buying again. I posted a pic I took back a couple of months ago - not a real good pic, but the only one I have on hand at the present, and I can't take any others at the present because the gold is locked away in a safety deposit box at the bank. It's of my little hoard - got it in one those bullion cube jars - not alot (just a tad over 15 oz/t) but it'll keep the wolf from the door in hard times. Most of it is small - got a nugget - 4 grams, and another - 5 grams though. As you may recall, I've done all my gold panning on ebay - jumped around a bit between sellers until I found a couple of them that I'm comfortable with. Wish I could get out, and do some prospecting/panning/detecting, but I'm just a mite too stove up for that, and I haven't been able to drive a vehicle for quite a few years - not too many gold fields in southern Illinois either - lots of flood water at times, but not much gold. Anyway, I just thought I'd post here - let you see what myt little "holdings" looked like. Happy prospecting!! Ralph (Rusty) 468 grams

biggfredd - heavy, yes - amazing how something so small can feel that heavy, and it's only about 2/3 of the way full.
Peter Thomas - it is, indeed, a very pretty little jar - much prettier with the gold in it than it ever was with the beef bullion cubes - my original intention was to fill it, but the cost is a mite high right now for me to continue; however, before the current correction is over, I'll probably add a little more. I'll get there in time.

I remember when there was not as much as that Rusty or if I remember just over half of that and that was a long time ago now,boy haven't the last five years flown mate and yes very impressive stash I must say and it is good to catch up with you again mate,by the way my mate Tim uses a biscuit tin and the last time I had seen it there were 28oz or 29oz I can't remember exactly though he did tell me it paid for a few trips back to NZ a new GPX4500 and the two trips to Western Australia so don't ask me how much is left as he keep adding and subtracting from his stash anyway mate thank you for adding to this thread and making it a little more interesting. regards Harry Oh by the way I'm using the 42gr specie as a paper weight
