mkman123 it's the set up that cost you an arm and a leg and then it starts to pay for it self, the only other cost is gas, food and shoe ware and yes apart from the nuggets in the ground waiting and ready to be picked up when you swing the detector over them if and when you look at it that way I suppose yes they are free

Yes Harry, it has gradually grown from the last time you saw a photo of it - I find that buying a gram or two here and there, it does add up - just got to have patience. Like I said in my earlier post, I hope to fill that little jar one of these days. It'll happen, but, with the price being asked today, it'll not happen as soon as I had originally thought. Just had a gut feeling back in '05 that putting a little gold together was a good idea - very happy that I followed that feeling. You might be interested to know I've still got the pieces you sent me a few years back, as well as the pictures, and envelope with your address "down under" - I don't think I ever throw anything away. Are you still into coin collecting? I am - in fact, I've completed a few sets, with quite a few unfinished - if you'd care to take a gander at the coins I've posted here in the forum, you can find my photos in the members photo galleries. I, too, am pleased that we've been able to make contact again - wondered if something had happened to you - glad to know you're well.

Thanks Rusty and no not at the moment I stopped collecting coins as well as stamps before last Christmas as I had to save for the big 2 month trip to the Western Australia gold fields,It didn't pay off as well as I was hoping it would so I've had to put off collecting for at least the rest of the year or try to find more gold in Victoria's golden triangle,I to have saved your mailing address and letters so If I need to mail you I won't have a problem providing your still at the same address. Cheers mate and again thanks for adding to this thread. Best regards Harry Oh P.S. this is the last little nugget to be found on the last day of the last trip A camel or tortoise what do you think it looks like

Yes Harry, I'm still squatting on the same corner - thought about buying a place, but my business is pretty well established at this location, and my customers know where to come if they want something made of leather - moving might cause confusion, and cost me money - reckon I'll most likely stay right here till the day they throw that first shovelful of dirt in my face. As for what your nugget looks like.....I guess I don't have all that much imagination - it just looks like a nice nugget to me. :)

I really don't mind if you give me your opinion on the 1 grammer LOL,this is only a 1/2 grammer but more numerous than the bigger ones, And this is the mate relaxing with his home brew after swinging the coil all day (check out my knee pads on the left very comfortable). Are you lot sure you don't want to guess the shape of the 1 grammer LOL just remember to swing low and slow and be safe.

I was sitting at home and a thought crossed my mind about what Rusty said on how he protects his gold he puts it into a safe deposit box,I myself have a floor safe bolted into concrete but there must be other ways you can protect your treasures, what about that other extreme How do you protect your valuables

Good grief I thought the 50cal was enough but you have enough fire power to stop a small seal assault on your safe .

A very handy light around the camp is one of those worn on the head,it gives you hands free and enough illumination to work by or see where your going, but the one draw back with these lights is you forget to turn it off so you end up blinding the people you are talking to I'll include a photo of the sort of thing I'm referring to . You see what I mean edited Corrected elumination for illumination thanks BiggFredd
