I know some of this art work is incredible and takes a highly skilled person. I also know that some of these could sell for quite a bit and know there are collectors who exclusively collect these for the love of the artwork. I love this series and would much rather collect them in their originality. What are your thoughts?

I appreciate the vintage examples by those early masters of the art. It represents a period in our history and the characters that we might not have known about. I don't give any value to recent works of art, no matter how artistic. It doesn't represent anything to me and I wouldn't think of collecting them.

I agree that they represent a period of US history and the ones made by hand with just a knife show that the person making it had real talent.

I would be concerned with no being able to tell a hand made one rather than one that is machine made.

How much would one of those sell for?

That looks like a modern piece.
Does anyone else agree?

TreasHunt - Yes. Early Modern. John Dorusa - probably from the 1980's. Sorry - didn't mean to imply that this one was from one of the early masters.

I've seen enough of these and that was my first thought as well.
