Haven't been on CCF in awhile... wasn't finding much time to look through my coins until more recently... (quarantine)...
BTW - Hope you all are well!!
Anyways, I was going through some of my old finds to finally put in 2x2's and mark up what they were and... I pulled up this 1968 D LMC that I had posted here about a year ago... and ultimately wasn't sure what to mark on the holder... So, I recently sent it in to Coin Q&A YouTube for discussion. Thought you would all get a kick out of checking it out ;) (This coin is discussed at approx. 19:00 on video)
No, I just sent an email to them with question & images... simple as that... and they picked my coin for the discussion. ;) Pretty cool though, hearing the discussion between the panel about different errors on coins!
But looking again at it, on the top of the 'N' I see a wave. So I'm now leaning towards coin damage. If it were a struck through the wave would not be there. PSD.
Also, in the original post... I didn't know about the weight and tapered planchet factor, until I took the coin back out to take new photos to send ;) Minor detail...but good to know about!
Ok... PSD... The fact it is on a slightly light planchet (3.04g) and has tapering influenced by the strike (tapering is diagonal opposite of error area "N" - slight MAD) leads me to believe the error was included in the strike...
