I searched on variety Vista's website and on Wexler's and I can't find any DDO listings that match. It has all the markers from DD-001. Are these numbers doubled?

No. It's a normal circulated Lincoln Cent. You're looking to close. If it was a real DDO, it would jump off the coin and smack you in the face!

Lighting angle makes it very difficult to evaluate this.

@CoinNutt check out http://www.doubleddie.com, I believe you may find interest in WDDO-001 IMHO.

totally not true, @USSID18. There are tons of doubled die varieties that are difficult to see even on an MS coin under a microscope. Just look at a lot of the minor shield cent DDOs on Wexler's site.

This is the result of not finding a doubled die, but keep looking to find something. What you will find is Machine Doubling and with enough power you could see an atom. But your wasting time looking too hard. If it is there, you should spot it right away. If not, move on to the next coin. Sure it is your time. Keep looking hard enough to find nothing that looks like it could be something. But you won't find a doubled die that way. If it's not there, move on.

Did you mean the 1955 DDO-001 specifically @USSID18? You just said "a DDO would jump off the coin and smack you in the face," which is not generally true for all DDOs.

No, not specifically.

Yes, for a strong DDO. One you don't need arrows and scanning electron microscope to see.

Yes, that is true.

You'd see the rimward distention of the letters in LIBERTY and hooked bottom horizontal line of the "E" in "IGWT" if it was 1957 DDO-001.

The reason I like to make side by sides, is that then you can exactly see what is going on with a normal coin and a doubled die:

Seeing them side by side helps to train your eyes better. When you move from one image in one location, then move to another image, the perspective is lost. Thus seeing them side by side helps.

1957-Lincoln-Wheat-Cent---Is-This-A-DDO-In-The-Date?
Even seeing slight differences between die numbers can help to see them this way:

Seeing coins side by side can prove or dis-prove a match:

1957-Lincoln-Wheat-Cent---Is-This-A-DDO-In-The-Date?
1957-Lincoln-Wheat-Cent---Is-This-A-DDO-In-The-Date?

To make these make sure the outside width is cropped the same and set the width to the same numbers and put them near each other and your on your way.
