Very nice! The book by Kravitz is invaluable for any collector of fractional notes. Another book I recently purchased and which seems to be highly informative (and is referenced in Kravitz's book) is The Encyclopedia of United States Fractional & Postal Currency by Milton Friedberg. He also has his own unique cataloging system (Milton numbering system). I found my copy on Amazon recently (there were also a couple on ebay but were far more expensive).

@walk2water, well its more like I have to buy the notes before Hokie does Continuing with my Fractionals. Today you get FR 1331 which is a Spinner 50 cents with a type 1 green back. FR 1331 is known for nice embossing which the TPG commented on. FR 1331 is the most common of the Type 1 Green Back notes. It has very nice color and looks great for the grade.

I had saved up for a hand signed fractional. I even placed the order and then I heard nothing from the dealer. He originally said he would ship on Friday, Friday came and went so I emailed, called. No response. I kept checking my card and I had no charge. So I actually not sure the dealer even had the note. After 2 weeks of no response, I assumed the order was dead and ended up getting something else. So we have the next few day notes. Adding to my fractional specimen collection. Today we get the 3rd issue 10 cents. It has really nice color and embossing. Many of these have annotations and other remnants as these were loaded onto a fractional shield. Fractional shields were supposed to have been made for banks to confirm a note was real, but a few thousands (~3,263) were made. They cost about $5000-$7000 and have 39 notes from the 1st to 3rd issue. Fractional Shields also had the Grant 15 cent note which was never released. They originally cost $4.50, many were unsold and sat in the US Treasury. A flood occurred and a majority had water damage. Today it is estimated that between 230 and 440 shields are still around. The most common one is a grey shield the rarest are the green. The note.

Continuing my descent into Fractional Enlightenment, today you get the reverse specimen. This one still has remnants of the shield. I like it as the color is very vibrant.
