Great collection . You're starting to push me to collect banknotes. Can I have a couple of questions about "Postage Currency"? Quote: exchange for Seven-thirties treasury What did you mean by that? Are you talking about treasury notes from the 1730s? Quote: (e.g., redeeming banknotes for silver coin which was then sold at a premium as bullion) Why would someone give their gold dollar to a paper one? If the paper is depreciating ? Do I understand the whole scheme correctly? The United States Treasury Department issues paper money, which it sells to private banks for gold and silver. Private banks sell paper money issued by the United States Department of the Treasury to the public for gold and silver. I'm sorry, I'm just trying to understand the whole storyo .

Not every note I buy is fractional currency. Recently @coinfrog had a $100 Federal Reserve Bank Note for sale. That was the last note I needed to complete my type set of FRBN. The note looks really good, make my others ones need an upgrade The full FRBN type set.

Great fractional specimens, hfjacinto! And I really like that $100 FRBN, it's a very attractive example. As we've discussed before, several times I've chosen 58EPQ examples over a 63 or 64 as I find the eye appeal sometimes superior than the lower uncirculated grades.

Very minor addition. I pick up an ASE or other silver coin when I have a few extra dollars at my local coin shop. I actually go more to just chit chat. Last week he had gotten in a few slabbed $5 bills. I picked this one up just for a little over face. While I don't collect FRN when they are cheap and high grade I usually can't say no.

A recent upgrade I was able to pick up from Coin Frog. F745 is the rarest of the San Francisco issue. For an AU 58 it has nice margins and great looking paper. I was happy to get it.

A recent pick up. This actually came over slabbed. But after looking at the slab, it looked like it had gotten wet, the label was discolored and the there was something inside the slab. To be safe I took out the note. This is the 5 cent Clark (FR 1238). This was one of the notes I was missing from my fractional set.

Cool little note.
Also the slab label seems to be pretty ragged at the top, not PCGS' best effort there.
