The graded notes!!! The first one up is the $2 solid star error. This one I graded to be 66Q. I had no other grade. The note was very nice, but it wasn't nice enough to be 67Q. And based on the grades many agree. This is also my first and only error note. For those interested: On modern notes, the star is not supposed to be a solid color; the center is supposed to have no ink. Sometimes, however, excess ink will create a star that looks solid, resulting in a Solid Star Error

The $1 1923 Silver Certificate. This one I went back and forth between Q and no Q. The note was in CU shape with no folds, but it had a small stain/mark on the obverse on the lower right hand margin and a small mark on the observe on the front. Otherwise the paper was original. I had it at 80% being 64 and 20% being 64 Q. I looked at a few 64Q with corresponding marks so I assumed it had a chance. But if I was a gambler I would have gone with the odds and picked 64, which is what it came back as.

And my final note. The last one and the most difficult to grade note. The 1826 Hoboken Banking and Grazing Company Obsolete. When I picked it up a few years ago, I was thinking 65Q, the paper had the original wave. Bright colors but the ink bleed concerned me. When I decided to grade it, first grade was still 65Q. Then the more I looked at it, its nice enough that on a good day, last note of the day and the grader is tired it might stretch to 66Q. There really is nothing wrong with the note. And then I looked at the grades and there are no Q notes with the highest graded being a 55. At that point I scanned every single mm of the note. I read the grading scale description and still was at this is a 65Q note, with an equal probability of being a 64Q and if the grader looks at the current grades it may get a 58. So the percentages in my mind were: 55% it was 65Q 35% it was 64Q 19% it would come back 58 (no q) <1% that the grader took a long break, had a few glasses and would come back with a 66Q And the grade is...... TOP POP ONLY Q NOTE and ONLY CU NOTE For those interested: The Hoboken Banking and Grazing Company was founded by Robert Swartwout who was a loyal friend and supporter of Aaron Burr. He shot Richard Riker, a supporter of Alexander Hamilton, in the leg in a duel on November 14, 1803. New Jersey granted a charter for 15 years to Robert Swartwout and Charles Haines to establish the Hoboken Banking and Grazing Company in 1822, to issue stock for New Jersey Salt Marsh Company. They were authorized to erect one of the first banking houses, and did so in Hoboken on 2nd street and Washington on November 15, 1822. The charter was acquired on January 28, 1820, to start the New Jersey Salt Marsh Company. Acquiring several thousand acres between Newark and Hoboken for what was referred to as the "Swartwout" New Jersey Meadowlands, and started the first large scale reclamation project to dike and drain the meadows for habitation and agriculture.
