Just wondering if these are worth anything to a collector? I do not know anything about paper money (or coins) but I'm trying to learn. Thank you in advance! #1   #2   I also have about twenty other two dollar bills, and I believe the year is in the '70's. |

eh, the FRN (green seal) $2 are still sometimes avaliable at the bank in stacks, so I wouldn't give much thought to those.
However, the red seals might be worth about $3. $5 if you find a collector who really needs to fill a hole.
And jeez, has that red seal been through a fire o_0.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have no idea what happened to that one with the dark on it. These are just two of many that were in my mother's collection.
So the 2 dollar bills really aren't worth saving? Even if they are dated 1976?

Well, the 1976 series is getting rarer and rarer, so it's a good one to save. I mean it's only 2 bucks, and surely you can save that.
Also just as a note, I have $2 from 1976, 1995, 2001, 2003, 2003A and 2006. It seems to me that the printing quality and the ink used on each note has gone down... guess the government is trying to save money by skimping on the ink. :)

I still get 1976 series $2s at the bank all the time for spending. They are not worth saving unless crisp and unstained. The red seal would certainly be a keeper if it was not stained and still had its two missing corners  In that condition, it would only be worth face value. |

They're neat, and you should save them if you like them. Remember, it's worth only what you sell it for. I'd buy the red seal from you, because I love $2 bills. Someone else might not. Even in bad condition, it's still nice to me.

$2 bills from 1976 are not rare. I get them from the bank all the time. Sometimes I get them in excellent crisp condition. You can get them at banks if you ask. Sometimes they have them, sometimes they don't. I got $1000 in twos from a bank last month. I wouldn't save it just because it is a 1976 $2 because of its condition. Unless you really like that particular bill I would spend a few hours driving around and asking at banks until you found one that is in much better shape.

I have lots of red twos and many more 76 crisp ones even 100 of them in a row . Keep looking you will find much cleaner ones then you have then update yours to them.

Those two bills are worth $2 each. Due to condition.
The 76 is really common crispy, so that one is lacking.
The other is fairly common untorn, so that's that.
Personally, I would still keep those 2 for the novelty.
However if I was buying, I'd give $4 for the pair.

I agree that the 1976 is worth $2. However, I think inspite of its condition the red seal is worth more than the green seal. You probably wouldn't get a dealer to pay for it, but I'd bet you could get $3-$4 at a flea market for it.

I had a dealer 'sell' me better red seals than that
at face value not too long ago. I told him I would
save stuff like this 'just because', and he said "How
much do you want? I can't sell this crap." I got
maybe 30 bux in red seal 2s and two blue seal 5s.
