Hello all,

Has anyone seen an mint error on the 1884-O Morgan on the mintmark?

I tried my best to take great pictures so we can grade a honestly and get a good look at the filled O.

Hi Jordan,
Looks like:

Reverse C3a - II O oval mint mark is filled on some specimens.
Die1 - Die marker - Filled II O mint mark with vertical die scratch at left side of eagle's right leg.

AU. Filled MM's are somewhat common and do not add value. IMO.

the 84(O) are normally average in strike so that doesn't surprise me. the photos/lighting are giving some concern about the surface originality. the first set of photos are looking over dipped. AU55

Okay, I thought it was rare. Thank you guys for the quick replies!

In regards to the images,

1.) The first two images I had my normal ceiling lights on.
2.) The last two, the lights are off and the photos were taken with flash on from my iPhone with a back light in the background.
3.) I am not sure if the coins are dipped, my father bought these coins decades ago and growing up he told me to never wash coins. I doubt that he dipped these coins.
