I may have mentioned in a previous thread that I pretty much keep anything that is shiny. I don't cross the border often so when I do, any thing shiny ends up in a drawer. This is one of them. It has likely been in my possession since 1997 as when I do cross the border I only take bills and quarters. In other words, once a US penny, nickel, or dime is in my hands it is out of circulation. I feel silly asking about a 1997 penny, but I recently saw that HA sold one in 2016 for $763.75! So I'm curious about the one I have. Is there anything special about the ones selling for a high price? Thanks, Report this Post to the Staff

Tough to tell from photos but the dull areas on the obverse, such as on Lincoln's coat, might be circulation rubs, and if so AU-59. Report this Post to the Staff
