Quote:he party-line comments in this article are even better: https://ca.news.yahoo.com/fake-toon...4807716.htmlIs it "debatable" that fakes are "rare"? I read this this morning now those are fake and if the normal person can not see that then they need to get educated.

This making headlines is going to come back to haunt the authorities when the real problem is exposed to John Q. Public. Can you imagine the questions that will be asked by the investigating committee...."How can you put out a public alert over an obvious joke coin, and hunt down the source, then turn your back on a real counterfeiting problem?"......We'll see.

Quote: "How can you put out a public alert over an obvious joke coin, and hunt down the source, then turn your back on a real counterfeiting problem?" The RCMP's seemingly careless attitude toward the obvious and harmful counterfeiting we've seen during the pandemic will never cease to amaze me.

Does anyone live in or near Hawkesbury? Maybe someone can bring attention to these fakes as well?

The reporter from CBC is interested in talking to a collector from PQ who has interest or has seen a "Hawksbury" coin?

680 News in the GTA told a story today about the 1990 Z Dollard coin and how to Identify it if it was in your change. What a joke !!! My guess is that someone from Dollard-de-Ormeaux, QC fabricated the coin/token.

Was there ever a news story on the camel toe toonie? These new things can't even be considered fakes.

Quote: Was there ever a news story on the camel toe toonie? Nothing in mainstream media. Just a local newspaper in the Belleville area. Visit the Media & Links page on the Camel Toe Toonies website for all known media coverage on the subject of counterfeit toonies.

Thanks for the link, the new "fakes" are a joke compared to the big fake issue, though I kind of want a Zoonie lol if I was in a shop and saw one that was good quality as a novelty item I would grab one.

Perhaps the Walrus Toonie is a cover for taking greater action over the fake cameltoe toonies without concerning the public given the walruses are 'obvious' fakes

Is it fair to assume that these Cameltoe Toonies will go down in Canadian history as the most circulated counterfeit coinage this country has ever seen?

I believe some amount of study would be required to determine the other contenders, but these Camel Toe Toonies are probably a safe bet.
