penny oincher:
Nice story, however, one thing:
I have done this (cherrypick) many times, including three 1858/7 Flying Eagle cents, about 10 1864 L Indian cents, purchased as No L, and many others, including two 1905 O micro O Barber dimes.

I would NEVER tell the dealer what I had found.
1) You don't want him to feel stupid;
2) you may never find anything from him again.

Three of the 1864 L Indians were purchased from the same dealer over a period of about 6 months, if I had bragged about the first one, do you think that I would have ever gotten the others?
No chance.

I'll tell friends, but never the seller, you don't want them to be angry. Let the seller believe that they had a good sale.

Besides reading, I search the internet & E-Bay for pricing on the coins I want to purchase in the future. Just getting prepared for the next addition to my collection. And hopefully don't pay too much for a coin.

I agree roll searching, and surfing around CCF! Always peaks my interest, esp when I've exceeded my coin budget for the week or month.
