Quote: I read somewhere those A dollars were tied in with the Post Office and hence why they are so hard to find.
Maybe that was the specially minted 'A' with an envelope privy mark ... very low mintage of 7500! Quote: A friend of mine here bought a set and they were in like a Berocca tube or something, really bizarre. Yes, they were sold like that.

Well, no noodling for me for another week until the next paycheck so Coaster can at least take comfort that I won't be pulling any A's out of circulation during that time. Reckon PT might be on to something though. The Envelope privy is like the golden ticket in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Maybe there's a Veruca equivalent whose father is cornering all the A's in pursuit of the privy envelope. What if there are no letter A left in circulation!

yes coaster they were sold like via the Tubes post office, however I don't think that was only way to get them I believe there is a PNC of the privy mail mark and possibly find-able in the jumbo bags.

Quote: I believe there is a PNC of the privy mail mark Yes, that's correct ryurazu ... according to Numista there were 2000 PNC produced. Quote: Maybe that was the specially minted 'A' with an envelope privy mark ... very low mintage of 7500!
I noticed that Numista also says that there were 14 500 minted with the envelope privy mark and not 7500 as I previously stated. This is confirmed in the latest Annual RAM Report.

Those donation dollars are very assertive!

The main thing is they are getting around - that is their aim, unlike Letter A dollars which seem to have "Avoid Coaster" beacons attached Like found American paper dollars, a Donation dollar will show up anywhere, stubbornly independent and refusing to play anyone's rules let alone Australia Post's With 346k in circulation, that is farcical by Australian standards, the average NCLT coin sold only in the mint is around 100k.

Coaster - I hope you still believe in Santa. I am sure he had an A in his bag.
