1914-D Cent That Was On Ebay, I Think It May Be Fake

thegrendel Valued Member United States 129 Posts	Posted 07/25/2020 12:17 pm This "interesting" cent was on ebay a couple of months ago. I should really call it a 1914-F because it might have been minted in Fakeville. Note the scratch or tool marks around the second 1 in the date. Can't tell if there's a vdb on Abe's shoulder from the pic, which is from the ebay listing. I did notify the seller that the date might be altered, and he got back to me and said that he had bought it at a coin show and had consulted with a friend who had thought it was genuine. Sure. It ended up selling for over $100. I didn't bid, though I might have gone for a buck or two because I have a soft spot in my heart for mystery coins. Report this Post to the Staff
