1914-D Cent That Was On Ebay, I Think It May Be Fake

This "interesting" cent was on ebay a couple of months ago.
I should really call it a 1914-F because it might have been minted in Fakeville. Note the scratch or tool marks around the second 1 in the date. Can't tell if there's a vdb on Abe's shoulder from the pic, which is from the ebay listing.

I did notify the seller that the date might be altered, and he got back to me and said that he had bought it at a coin show and had consulted with a friend who had thought it was genuine. Sure. It ended up selling for over $100. I didn't bid, though I might have gone for a buck or two because I have a soft spot in my heart for mystery coins.

The 19 spaced out from 14 seems to make this kind of suspicious

Yea, something doesn't look right with the 2nd 1. Hope the buyer realizes it and returns it.
