The $250 coin is 1 kilo of silver (it just looks golden). But both silver and gold should do well in the future. You have to wonder what a high price for silver will do for the lower end silver coins - if they will be melted in quantity (again). But if the higher mintage collector coins get melted, that would be a plus. As for the older issue business coins, there aren't a whole lot of them left - even in lower grades.

A kilo of silver would fetch about $475 right now,the issue price of the kilo coin was about three times that.As a bullion coin I doubt that this coin is a good investment,as a collector coin, time will tell.

I myself have started recently purchasing silver bars for inve$tment. I feel the economy is not recovering as fast as most people assumed it would and feel there will be another dip in the Recession. This will surely move precious metals skyward! Tis the time to buy gang.

I have a soft spot for naturally toned Canadian coinage
Glenn with you and am thinking that the 3rd quarter of 2010
things will pick up, with your silver bar purchases.

I have a Canadian 1973 large bust 25 cent coin graded ICCS MS-64 listed in trends @ $1,500.00. But my personal favorite coins are my 1953 SF 25 cent ICCS MS-65 Heavy Cameo with nice purplish toning I also have the 1953 SF Heavy Cameo 10 cent coin to match . I think these coins are under valued in trends? I can't show you picture's the coins are at the bank in safety deposit box I'll try to go in next couple of days to get them for picture's and post.

They are undervalued, by a longshot. The 25 cent is probably worth three times what Trends would have you believe, the ten cent at least double.

Hey Zonad, you owe me a new keyboard. Showing off that delicious '66 >MS-66 half dollar made me drool and short out my keyboard! It looks like the one Mike Findlay had on sale on E-bay last week(E-bay I.D.= CCC-CCDN)
Awesome piece and a great investment. The 2009 I.C.C.S. Population report only has one listed in MS-66. Any time you want to part with it, please let me know.
