I just read a post elsewhere from someone who just got coins back from them, having submitted a month before me. I think between a whole lot of resubmits for the new slabs, and the planned move, they're a touch busy.

I'm not worried, just impatient.

I spoke with James and the problem is that people starting submitting coins in November requesting the new holders and stating that they would be willing to wait until the new holders were released. The backlog that resulted was not the fault of ANACS. There are quite a few people who are complaining at the delay in receiving their coins when the delay was due to their request to wait for the new holders. Obviously, the entire backlog could not be taken care of in a couple of days. In spite of this, ANACS is issuing free vouchers to make up for the delay.

As I understand it, the backlog is now taken care of. The move will be happening in less than 2 weeks. I'm sure that, once the move is done, they will be right back on schedule.

Bryan, can you assign a specific number to #7? That's how I'm scoring the contest - total Sheldon numbers compared to the actual total.

For the record, along with the cents, coin #9 goes to the winner. Remember, that's a Top 100 VAM. I've acquired one in better condition.

Susanlynn, as I mentioned I'm not bothered by the delay - it's letting more people enter the contest - and it would be nice if they sent a couple vouchers with my submission.

Just a bump to let you all know that I STILL haven't received my coins back yet - it's over two calendar months and counting.

[:0] More than two months.
Perhaps ANACS likes your coins and has put them in their own collection. LOL

How long does it take for a person to grade a coin acurately and put it in a slab?

Do I have the wrong end of the stick here by thinking it would take a maximum of 5 minutes?

It sound worse than bad service, could they have been lost? Or is a two month wait really what people expect is normal? Have you chased them up by phone or email?

Given what I'm hearing about ANACS' turnaround time (in all fairness, PCGS and NGC are similarly slow), it isn't time to panic for another week or two. None of the top TPG's are anywheres near their promised turnaround times.

SuperDave, If you haven't already, call them to make sure they have not been misplaced. It happened to me just a few months ago. After 3 weeks on my 5 day turnaround I called and was told they were put on the wrong shelf.

Dewayne, I just noticed that I'd inadvertently deleted two of these coins from my webhost. Did you see the two 1880-O Morgans?

Tomorrow evening there will be a winner. I missed delivery today at work, so tomorrow I will be picking the coins up on my way home from work. Somebody is going to be $1.02 richer.

One week short of three months it took them. This will be my last Economy submission to a grading service.

Can I ask, How much did you pay for this "Economy" submission?
