1957-D Cent - Double Die? - Coin Community Forum

I just can't tell if it is a 1957 or 1952. I mostly just care about the first one Any help would be appreciated. Report this Post to the Staff

So, dealing with the first photo only, it's a 1957-D with Machine Doubling. Very common on cents from the 50's. No premium I'm afraid. to the CCF! We look forward to seeing more of your collection! coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 08/29/2020 12:11 pm Just Machine Doubling on the date. A very common example. The machine must have been ready to fall apart when striking these: On a doubled die, the devices will show a spread and also contour on both hubbings of the die on the devices. Not showing a flattened area. The sing of the dies alters the devices on the outside edge of the devices, in any direction, sometimes two directions if the machine moves that much. Also note on the images the push is like moved snow. It accumulates at the end of the movement direction. (Note the images again) Edited by coop 08/29/2020 12:14 pm Report this Post to the Staff
