Quote: People are receiving some pretty awesome stuff already! Every year without fail, I am quite astonished with the gifts I see people receiving. So far that 1975 Canadian penny error is a serious stand out! I realize that not everyone can afford to be quite as generous as some, so I don't go into this thinking that this any kind of contest. Some of my assignments have also been quite generous to me, so I try to do my part by easily exceeding the cost minimum as much as I can afford each year. From the moment I sign up, I start brainstorming what kind of gift I'd like to give. Unfortunately you almost need to have your gift picked, boxed and ready to go for when you get the email of your assignment - and this lends to less personalizing of the gift. I like to and always try to make it personal, and while I might prefer to be able to add to the collection of my "assignment", invariably that's just not feasible for me. Every year I feel as though my gifts pale to others, but knowing that this is not a contest, I just hope that my assignment might like it, and see it as something unique. I also am incline to think that my assignment from the first year I was involved in this may have been shafted - not because I was trying to come off as cheap, but rather, I didn't quite realize how most here do it.

Min 5 dollars I think is fair as not everyone situation is same, however this is my first time participating will be happy as long as it not something that is I've already gotten or is fairly easy to obtain. Still in looking forward to receiving a gift and making someone's day.

I've seen many wonderful gifts received by members here this year. We all must have been very good! Santa arrived at my house today and left a great addition to my silver proof set collection. Thank you Santa.
