Are there restriction on where the packages/letter can go? any other limitation such as packages need to be tracked or untracked?
also what are people looking for here mostly modern coins, older coins, or surprise just something interesting doesn't even have to be a coin? something Shiny or something that is dirty but old?
sorry just thought I be clear as I see someone having drink tears for Christmas. Dont want to have my gift go unloved

ryurazu it depends on the individual. Wait till you're assigned to someone and if you don't know them well, try to do some research and find out what they like by going through their posts.

Asking in general what do people send normally? Some people might not have that many posts.

About sending early from some countries to Australia or North America was my suggestion. I do not mind if anything sent to me arrives early or late - I'll be here :) What I am more concerened is during previous editions of Secret santa, what I send usually arrive by the second half of January due to me living in Turkey. Maybe Richard can arrange some senders like me who are concerned about post time to send early to their recipents? This is just a suggestion, this year I'll send the next day I receive the address of my recipent for sure!

The problem with sending out assignment out early is that all have not finished registering. And it would mean having 2 exchanges one for those who make the early deadline and a second for the late deadline.
We will continue on and if Santa arrives in January- you get 2 holidays.

thanks for the links spruett001. It's definitely worth having a look at the gifts given in years gone by.
Ideas are brewing

For next year , would it be possible to have a separate secret Santa for U.S. members and another one for all other countries . U.S. will send and receive from U.S; All foreign address's will do the same . Maybe have the foreign members start first on November 1,2021 . And the U.S. members start on the regular start date, say December 1st 2021 . Just a wild thought , not to step on your toes .

I'm unable to ship anywhere else but the US, even though I'm out of the country. So that might work for others T-BOP, but not for me.

Hello , I'm interested but have the same fear as molydeii, specially to australia and the american continent , its highly possible that the package we sent arrive too late if we send it in the first week of december and the coronavirus will make the situation worth. That is why I'm still hesitant of participating.

Chronos : I suggest you register your package and this way even if it's late a few weeks, you will make sure that it arrives to your receiver. I always register / use tracked mail whenever I post anything abroad. It's well worth the extra few dollars you spend for it. Also, best of my knowledge, tracked mail gets into a seperate box during transit, which makes it a lot faster than the ordinary mail.
