A bit delayed, but in light of none other than John1's request/reminder, Ive decided to do a contest inspired by my recent post here: http://goccf.com/t/384905 The game: Washington Lottery The Rules: Must have 50 posts, and is limited to USA members. Each participant is allowed one entry per day. We will be using any of the 83 dates with mintmark combinations from the Washington quarters from 1932-64. You will pick 3 dates for each guess. Players can use the same date/MM, BUT CANNOT use the same 3. In addition to this, you may choose from one of the following 4 key dates/major varieties as your Bonus play. If the 1st place winner also gets this number, they will get the bonus prize. Bonus Dates to choose: 1932-D 1932-S 1937 DDO 1943 DDO. Example of a proper guess: 1934 1941-S 1955-D Bonus 1937 DDOI have placed all date/MM combos into a container and will draw at random. Order of the dates is not important, just that the 3 numbers are drawn. If I do not draw a winning combination, I will place all numbers back, and redraw until we have a winning combination. Deadline is Thursday 10/29 at Midnight. I will post the winners Fiday. There will be 3 winners! 1st place: ANACS graded MS-63 1957-D Misplaced D FS-501 2nd and 3rd place: Will both receive an UNC 2020 Marsh Billings W Quarter from my recent finds. Bonus prize: Will also be a Westpoint Marsh Billings Q.  Edited by Ty2020b

Cool contest and prizes! My guesses are: 1944-D, 1947-S, 1954-D, bonus 1943 DDO. You might consider tweaking your rules a bit. There are over 90,000 combinations of 3 dates/mm, and even if there are a couple hundred guesses, you might be pulling out several hundred dates/mm before you get a winning combo! |

I thought about that also, but its probably going to happen like this. Ty pulls a 1939 D, in the 100 guess there are 7 1939D, so those 7 people are in the running, Ty will then keep pulling out until 3 are decided. Thats my guess. If there is only 1 1939D that person wins, than we go to the next date... I could also be wrong ;) |

I did do a little math after and realized that as well  . Thank you Zurie and hfjacinto. I will draw a date at random, if it is in one of the contestants guesses it will stay, if it's not, it will be set aside and another number will be drawn until that date is in any guess. So on and so forth until we have a winning combination. Once we have our first winner, I'll continue drawing and that will be how 2nd and 3rd place will be decided. |
