It's in rough condition so I can't really tell if it's a proof or not. What do you guys think?   |

No reason to assume that it is a proof. Please realize that the US mint in Philadelphia minted 585 MILLION dimes with no mint-mark. There is no logical reason to assume this is anything but one of those.

Looks acid dipped. What does the edge look like? If it looks like this, then it is acid:  If so it is just a spender. |

Actually yes I've found a few rarities in these old folders that my father got from estate sales years ago, I know the mint made many of those regular dimes but to me Roosevelt looks like it has a frosted finish but has seen damage, I could be wrong cause v your right there's no reason to think it is the proof but if I don't ask I won't know. And the experts on this forum have helped me alot before

Well the coin should look like this:  Yours doesn't look like this. Yours is a Philly normal business strike that has seen a lot of hard road during it travel in circulation. Edited by coop

The rim is sharp around the edges like a proof and not acid dipped from what I can tell  |

Then it may have been a mild acid, or an outdoor find that caused the pits to happen. But most of the time, the outdoor finds are brown colored:  |

The surfaces look as if they were corroded and cleaned or possibly damaged by fire.

If it were a proof (which it's not) it would be called an "impaired proof", essentially worthless.
