 I am starting to think that someone in my area has released a number of IHC into the wild. I just found my third one since the New Year. Not worthy of my Dansco but worth putting in my trade book. I hope this keeps up for awhile. The latest is an 1901 on which liberty can still be read. |

Today I went through another box and found 8 wheats 1930 S-to bad it wasn't the 31-s 1939 1944 D 1945 1945 D 1949 D 1953 D 1958 D It's always nice finding early wheats! Today I also found 4 canadian cents 1942 1956 1978 1991 Also, I found something incredible, especially in nebraska... 2004 Bermuda One Cent coin All in all, pretty nice finds! Still looking for the '92 Close AM! |

Nice Child - especially on that 30S. Here in the east, finding S mint Wheaties is s treat! I've found a few Bermuda cents too; my son digs the foreign coinage as it is a break from the routine. Happy Hunting!

I found a partial roll of 94-D (42 coins with ends) and 94 (2 coins) with great luster today. Certainly not worth anything but it was kind of cool to find so many in the same "clear" type roll. The rest of the roll were common coppers.  |

If you have a roll set, that's almost a full roll of 94D completed.

After a 2-week hiatus I finally managed to pick up another box to search this weekend. Weight was 14 lbs., 9.5 oz, so I expect it to yield 400 coppers - give or take 10. I managed to get through 30 rolls by Sunday night. The results so far are as follows: * Approx. 75 freshly minted 2015-D Shield Cents. I'm going to scrutinize these later looking for gems and new varieties. * A half dozen MS Zincolns from the 80's and 90's nice enough to go into a tube for building future BU rolls from.  * A 1962-D LMR Cent in MS-63 Red with full blazing mint luster. Nice enough to go into 2x2 flip.  * A 1963 LMR Cent in MS-63 Red with full blazing mint luster. Also going into a 2x2. * Two more 1963 LMR's in AU. One is RB and the other mostly brown. * A 1981 Canadian Cent. * About 250 common LMR circulated coppers. Strangely, not a single Wheatback so far in this box.  If one doesn't pop out of one of the next 20 rolls it'll be my first box that skunked me for Wheaties. Edited by ConfederateHalf

Another GREAT box! No pics today, though... 17 LWC from one box  So far thats the best box I've gotten this year! 1939 1940 1941 1944 D 1945 1946 2x 1946 D 1948 S 1952 D 2x 1953 D 1954 D 1955 1955 D 2x 1958 D I also managed to snag 3 canadian cents: 1965 1981 1993 Happy hunting, and good luck! |

Man, I have been really lazy with updating my penny finds lately. Ugh. But I just wanted to say first to yelimsexa thank you for posting that! Just love to read the stats and "breakdown" of your finds in that purchase. Great job on that box, ChildoftheWhea!! Very nice.
For me, I have only found things worthy of posting on the last day: 4 wheats yeasterday! 2 in some rolls (FINALLY), and 2 in change. All in one day. Just happy my dry streak is over. Great finds all, and I will try to post more frequently, haha.

Strangely, not a single Wheatback so far in this box. If one doesn't pop out of one of the next 20 rolls it'll be my first box that skunked me for Wheaties. Finally finished up this box. Finally found two (2) wheaties, but they were a 1956-D and a 1957-D, so they were purely consolation prizes, making this the worst box ever for Wheats. On the bright side, I ended up filling two tubes with mint fresh 2015-D Lincolns - a few of which were gem grade with minimal bag marks.  Also found 2 Canadians: 1980 (previously misreported as 1981 due to a typo), and a 1989. Best finds were three (3) 1962-D LMR's in BU; one (1) 1963 LMR in BU, and a 1994 Zincoln in AU-58 with a cool die crack on the reverse. Too bad on the LWCs, but the other finds are interesting. Did you check your LMCs for varieties? In that condition, a particular variety could be worth some money.

Yeah....I gave 'em all some close scrutiny from my 10X loupe and my USB microscope, but no evidence of die varieties on these. No RPM's, doubled dies, etc. Still, it was a hoot finding 3 BU's from my birth year (1962). Most 1962's I run across are brown and well worn. |

Indeed - finding coins like that in circulation is fun. I see folks at the LCS posting coins like yours on the bid board but why bid if you can snag them from a CRH event and have fun doing it? Of course, some aren't willing to get their fingers as dirty as ours for a coin you can get for under a buck. But that AU/BU variety - worth the grime in my opinion!
