I found this 1917-D over the weekend... sadly, it's not a hole filler. Oh well! Then again, can't complain too much about finding a 100 year old coin with a mint mark!

Every week I go to one of my pickup banks, actually it's my trade bank. The head teller save all the rolls for me and boxes them up and once a week I trade a box of cwr of nickels and dimes for a box that hasn't been searched. I mark my rolls so she knows what rolls I have been through and only gives out my marked rolls to business customers if she has to ship coin out she only bags the rolls I have searched. She is such a sweet lady. Anyhow today I stopped to make my swap and asked her if she had any pennies to spare she only usually has $10-20 worth to spare so I buy them but I never take them back. I dump them into coinstar and redeem for a gift card. Today she has a whopping 6 BAGS of them that came in earlier in the week. She didn't have room to store all the rolls so she had to bag them and said they would be shipped out on Thursday. So after a quick minute or two while she was getting my nickels and dimes and doing a few other transactions I asked her where all the pennies came from and she said it is penny wars at the school and each classrooms are in competition with each other to see who can get the most pennies in their respective container and since school year is getting close to the end of the year they roll all the pennies and bring them in. She said it happens this time every year. So this being said I said you are gonna think I'm crazy but I would like to buy all the bags and she said laughed and said yes most certainly although she said it must be a full moon this week with all the odd requests by people this week, which it is. She helped me carry them to my car. Will post a picture of all the bags as soon as I get a chance.

I will post results of each bag as I get one done. It is going to take a few weeks or more for me to have time to go through this many. But it will be fun!

I thought this one was worth a mention. Scared the out of me. Cruising through a roll (I usually sort dates first) and wham, this guy pops up. I thought some sort of bug was crawling on my hand. lets just say I ended up picking about 30 or so lincolns (and the Elizabeth II) up off the floor. At that point I had never seen a coin like that, which I now know to be a Feather Tailed Glider, AKA Pygmy Glider.
