LibertyEagle20, great find! That 1960 Small Date coin is the one regular issue Lincoln Memorial cent that has always eluded me... I have found two 1970-S Small Dates in my lifetime - one about 15 years ago, and one January this year CRH. The best way to spot it is to look for weakness in the word LIBERTY and in the IN GOD WE TRUST motto... when I found my latest one, I actually saw the weak LIBERTY first, and thought it might be one - before I saw the date! Yes, my eyes are well trained.

Being on the West coast is definitely a help in finding the 70-S small date, though the older Philly Memorial cents (1959-1963 and 1969) are difficult to find out here.

Since I posted my total nickel crh inventory I thought I would do the same for cents. Plus I'll add some pictures of some good finds because everyone likes pictures! This is from about ten years of searching. I have 23 left to complete a LWC set. I have not found a 1960 small date or a 1970s small date either. It has been a couple years since I filled a hole. Realistically I may never fill another hole. 1938s should be out there but it has eluded me. I found a couple rolls of counter strikes-mostly states and Kennedy novelties. I found a few Cuds, a few clipped planchets, a couple washers, some US dimes, and a handful of other foreign coins. I search cents quick without flipping every coin. I have certainly tossed WAMs because I didn't flip them to check if they were 1998 or 2000. I risk tossing 1999 WAM, 1960 small date, 1970s small date, or other varieties but I'm mostly interested in LWC. There are definitely cool finds out there in Lincoln rolls. It's fun to share and see all the other finds!

Very nice sich! The photos are fun but the data is interesting especially since most folks who CRH don't tally it up. I'm not sure if anyone here has put a circulation set together (minus the key cents of course), but pretty exciting to see how far you got. My brother and I used to search a $50 bag a week growing up in the 70s and we pulled a number of semikey LWCs, but not data; just the specimens and a bunch of 'spare' LWCs. We split the coins to fill out albums for ourselves and between the two, I'm sure it would consolidate into something interesting. We plan to look at them one of these days and seeing your data, I'm wondering more and more about what we found.

Good luck on the hunt!

Very nice work, sich0015!

I'm actually working on a short set (1934-date) of Lincolns as I know I'll never fill all of the older holes. I'm very impressed that you've found 2 1926-S cents and that really nice 1931-D. That's amazing! By the way, the 1938-S is out there as I've found two of them. The coins that have eluded me for my short set are the 1938-D and 1939-D wheats, and the 1960 Small Date.

My photo taking skills are worse than my brain surgeon skills, but I found another 1998-WAM last night in the very last roll of the box I was searching. It was a good box overall, with 23 Wheats with the earliest being a 1919.

Interesting to see the totals above. I have kept totals for the last five years. I always post the yearly total at the very end of the year. In the past five years I have found all but fifteen of the wheat cents. I guess I will post the 2017 totals in a few weeks. The total wheat cents for the nearly five years to date is 11709. Some of the missing cents is somewhat surprising and some of the found ones are more surprising.
