Thanks it has some dirt in the letters, someone said that I should never clean a coin so I'll just leave it with the dirt lol

I would try soaking it in acetone. Acetone only removes organic material not altering the coin at all. Most do not consider this action 'cleaning'.

A different branch of one of my banks produced ANOTHER collection dump this afternoon... the teller told me that a man brought in $10 worth of cents in on Saturday... and I could tell right away they were all copper by the weight... went to my car, and 1000 wheat cents, and a token 1959 LMC. Details and photos to come!

*UPDATE*

Most of the rolls were marked by date... all of the coins were in the 1950s including 690 S-mints, 28 of them 1955-Ss!

1950-S:100
1951:58
1951-D:8
1951-S:211
1952-D:50
1952-S:200
1953-D:49
1953-S:151
1954-D:43
1955-D:32
1955-S:28
1956:2
1957:50
1958:18
1959:1

John77, with your luck you could run a coin shop just through CRHing! 1955-S coins are hard to find. I think I have found only three or four; it was the penultimate hole-fill for my Whitman 1941-1974 folder. I'm still looking for 1943-S.

You're definitely right, aristarchus123. I've got so many solid date rolls of wheats right now that I may start putting some on ebay as I've done with my pre-60 and harder-to-find pre-72 nickels, and S-mint Memorial cents... Indeed the 55-S is a tough one to find, even out here on the West coast - I think I had only found about 4 in my 2 years of CRH - one more than the 54 Philly. Crazy that one person actually hoarded about 15% (7 million) of the 1955-S mintage... Other than the Steels, it and the 1954 Philly have always been my hardest finds for my 41-74 folder. I've been lucky with the 43-Ss... finding two of them in a dime roll last year was danged bizarre!

Rackster, indeed I have been very lucky. It seems someone in my neighborhood is randomly dumping wheats at various branches of one of my banks... this was the same branch where I found that hoard of 58 bankwrapped rolls from 1974 last summer. As for the tellers, only a few are really on the lookout for stuff for me... I was just in the right place at the right time.

I picked up this box and another one. Starting that box tonight. I hope it has better results.
