Does anyone else sort out only 1981 and earlier cents? I don't even wanna fuss with the 1982s.

Lol Yes, for whatever reason that I keep the coppers, I felt if I ever went to sell them, that would be a good selling point, no 82's.

Someone made a good point to me, so I bought a scale to weight 1982 and 1983 cents I find. The 1982-D small date and 1983 transitional copper errors. That changed my mind.

I would keep the 1983 cents separated, but every one I seem to come across has been eaten with zinc rot. I am pretty sure if I ever found a decent looking 1983 cent it would have to be copper.

Exactly why I stop at 1982 coppers in my albums, jbuck. The zinc rot is awful on these Zincolns I am sorting through. Not at all collectible, IMO.

Lol Actually, I have a scale... so I do weigh a good deal of the 1982s I find, pulling all of the coppers. Also, a good amount of the time, the zincolns from that year are obvious. Quote:

Said coins are worth a lot... I think all of those found so far have been 1983-Ds.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!
