Quote: I think the Zincolns are going to be in circulation a lot longer than we think How long did Half Cents float around after they were discontinued?

Last couple boxes were almost polar opposites - one was 90% D mints (odd for my location just outside Philadelphia) that gave up over 20 S-minted LMC and 16 wheat cents; the other mostly P minted cents with 11 wheats and only a few S-minted LMC. However the second box, though thinner on wheats, gave up a 1910 P with excellent details and a very nice 1907 IHC! I've been searching cents for YEARS and this is my first IHC, so a very pleasant surprise. Photo quality isn't great but I'm stoked regardless.

I don't think Half Cents circulated a lot, Jbuck. Mintages in total, I do believe, were only around 7 million. So I expect they disappeared fairly quickly after 1857. Large cents hung around much longer.

I could be wrong.... But is it just me, or there something unusual about the numbers and letters on this? I'm probably wrong, but this isn't a slight doubling at all, is it?

Not seeing anything unusual. Looks like a nice normal LMC.

Now that's an infrequent occurrence.
