halfabustisbetter Pillar of the Community United States 1984 Posts	Posted 12/07/2008 03:20 am Here's an AU-58 obverse: Image: 1852.jpg 23.52 KB I'd say this one is close to AU, but (for me) would be placed in the Extra Fine category due to rim issues, hairlines, and the crud in the reverse lettering/wreath which would lead me to suspect somebody worked a little to get it looking AU. SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 12/07/2008 10:03 am Judging from what I see in Heritage results, there's no reason why this coin won't see AU50-53. The color is a little too red due to white balance; you can see it in the background being reddish instead of the black it seems like it's supposed to be. That'll make a copper coin look lighter than it actually is. Nice Cent. Report this Post to the Staff
