Hello Coin Commmunity,

I found this nickel in the cash bin at work. I have looked around the internet and haven't been able to find much about it. I did see that this kind of coloring can be caused by environmental damage, but the coins look in pretty good shape.

Hoping for an explanation.

That is some extreme toning. Caused by exposure to chemicals
