Found this 72 Memorial cent today and it looks like some of the letters have some doubling. I see nothing on LIBERTY or the date but IGWT seems to have a few letters that have some offset to them. Isn't much but enough to notice from normal letters. Any help is appreciated in advance......

Yep, I see something going on there but I'm not an expert.

Nice coin. When I look at a couple of guides, I noticed that references to doubling were with obvious doubling in the "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the number 2. Of course guides seem to use high end UNC/MS coins!

Being no expert either, it seems like your strongest case for DDO is in the "IN GOD WE TRUST" and not the date. CONECA has at least 9 variants for a 1972 P among these letters but I am not sure how some wear and its flattening of the letters impacts a variant designation. Good luck!

Yes, been going back and forth with the coin under the scope and I do believe you are right - 003. But it sure is close to 006 too

Nice find. Matches DDO-003 stage C. The die scratches in the field by Lincolns face and I see that tiny gouge at the rim by the corner of the bust.
