Hello everyone. I'm trying to get a handle on estimating coin grade so let me know what you all think. With the naked eye, this coin is beautiful but pictures always seem to show some type of discoloration or marks. This coin has that wood texture which I think looks nice though I'm not sure if that adds to or takes away from the coins grade.

I'm not very adept at grading Zincolns, so I'll let others chime in.

Same photo comments as the other one.

Weak strike, very flat hair, temple and cheek. Distracting spotting in the fields.

Again, tough to judge. Looks like it may have seen some light circulation, MS63 at best for me.

Cartwheel is just lighting up the Luster for photos. Or when you roll a coin in-hand under a light, and the Luster twirls around the Coin. Of course it has to be a MS Coin for great Luster/Cartwheel.

I know that if I take a photo indoors using a little bit of light coming from my phone that I can get a picture that shows luster if there is any. I'll take pics like that and repost to see if anyone changes their estimated grade. Thank you by the way for all of your responses.

I am tempted to say MS63 due to spots. Am I being too harsh?

Stay well,

Hello. I think I got a good picture that demonstrates the coin's luster. I am including the new photos along with the originals. Let me know what you think! Thanks again.

MUCH BETTER! Just discard those first pictures.

65/66RD, the strike issues hold it back for me.

Great. Your responses are a good guide for estimating the grade of some of the other coins I have or will have in the future!
