Grabbed this at a fairly good price. Nice to check this off the list. Only 2 large cents to go...and I've got my eye on one of them...

First set are sellers photos, second set are NGC which just shows off the luster.

What a nice coin! Solid strike, very few marks, and strong luster (which is not always the case with mint-state copper!). The curving dark line on the obverse looks like minor discoloration which shouldn't hurt the grade much.
MS-64BN seems likely and 65 is possible. Great type coin!

It is not often that we come across a copper large Cent with a deep even patina, AND with obvious luster.
Copper is softer than bronze.

MS-65BN, an exceptional coin, museum grade.

Nicely struck. I cant find any indication of circulation on this one. these are tough to grade once you get into MS. MS63BN possibly 64. really nice piece. I've never seen anyone complete the LC set. that would be a major accomplishment in anyone's book

Any time I see a nice 1818 it has me wondering if it might be from the Randall Hoard discovered back in 1878.

One day left!

To answer Frog, it just appears to be a thin streak of discoloration.
