BUT! looking at the LESPS that is to be released this year, is listed as a multi mint set.

Quote:

United States Mint Limited Edition 2021 Silver Proof Set
MULTI (S)(W)

It generally is -- the nickel, dime, quarter, half are S; the ASE is W. I can only think of one instance where the ASE was also S.

Re-did my research. It looks like 2017-2020 LESPS have had the S Proof ASE. So it IS interesting that the 2021 set will be (W)(S).

Well when I get home, I'm going to go back and check my LESPS'. (I got them all going back to 2012 but never really looked at the mint mark on the ASE on each one that carefully. Now I'm curious..

EDIT:
According to the US Mint it was an 'S' minted ASE in 2020.

The S Proof ASE that was included in the LESPS was from 2017. It also appeared unexpectedly in the Congratulations set that year. Maximum mintage of 125k making the 2017 S Proof ASE a desirable coin.

There has been an S Proof ASE every year since 2017, just not in the LESPS.

edit: re-did my research! Looks like there WAS an S ASE in the 2017-2020 LESPS.

Thanks for posting the later release date. We will have to wait longer. Maybe the Mint is trying to further improve their server/firmware.
That's the same day as an ancient coin auction I'm interested in. Guess I'll be watching both.
