Quote: But I guess when you see what was done to Maryland, leaving off Delaware almost seems kind! I think what you're interpreting as Maryland is supposed to be West Virginia, although that only makes it worse. I'd also like to point out that either a) the four corners no longer exist, or b) Wyoming and Colorado now share the same western border.

Quote: I think what you're interpreting as Maryland is supposed to be West Virginia, although that only makes it worse. Exactly my point! The two states were combined into some misshapen mess w/o a border! And when did New Jersey become the eastern border of Maryland? Or when did NJ stretch to Virginia? Just bad...

I don't have one to show, but I'm sure we can all visualize the SBA dollar, with it's hatched-nosed portrait that looks like it was intended for a medieval playing card.

Quote: The map of the US is distorted, multiple states are improperly sized and/or shaped and Delaware was completely left off the map! But I guess when you see what was done to Maryland, leaving off Delaware almost seems kind! I hadn't taken the time to really consider the reverse on this one before. Now that you point it out, what a nightmare! I think Michigan, Texas, and NY were the biggest travesties, but it's all just so bad... I'm blown away "Amateurish" doesn't begin to describe

Sadly you are all WRONG, the ugliest coin ever is the 50 cent series of Ben Franklin. Not only is the obverse just a bald old man but the reverse is also as bad. They even used a privy mark for an Eagle and who picked the font? Ben was so ugly he made walking liberty run away from him! And don't get me started on Ike!' At least Ike has a nice reverse!

Personally I don't care much for the current British coins. Yes, it's fun making the shield out of the designs, but after a while the novelty wears off. Individually I think the coins are rather ugly, especially the 20p, which just looks as if the reverse design hasn't been struck properly. Another problem is that, unlike their predecessors, these coins do not show the value in figures. As a tourist guide who has taken numerous foreign tour groups around London, I can tell you that this causes confusion - people are always coming up to me with coins and asking what their face value is!
