I think this is a class VI DDO, but it is circulated and bent down some. I can't find any matches, but a bunch don't have pictures on the various sources.

wow... I wish I was more competent to make a informed comment...

the "9" certanly looks like it might be doubled...

i hope it is ...

that would be a nice find...

i am looking forward to seeing the experts opinions...

Definitely a cl vi DDO, congrats. Which one is the question: I'm guessing 1 or 10 based on the 4s but you may need to look for markers or do an overlay.

Good luck.

Clue: Look at the 44. Note the angled verticals on those digits.

Not a match to 001 or 010. Close, but not a match:

Definitely a Class VI DDO. Seeing it on date, TRUST, LIBERTY. Good eye!

Thanks pound, Centstation. Really appreciate the help coop. I didn't see the markers for 01 or 10 either. That "R" in trust looks like a bee stung it, and its stronger than any others I saw on VV or copper coins. Guess it will go in my unattributed.

The class VI dies for 1944 are poorly worked out. Seems like a project for someone as there are unlisted strong ones as well as few die states shown for the listed ones. Not to mention a lack of die markers on VV and most of the listed ones on Wexler's site without images. Can be a frustrating year to work with, as there are also a ton of doubled eyelids out there.

Sounds like fun TB. Of course you have to have a collection of 1944's DDO candidates. Or access to them.
