The first is a copper coin that seems to be issued by the Western Satraps ruler Nahapana. While most of the Nahapana issues are silver drachmae, while a few others are copper, with the lion motif, I have not come across this variant, which basically looks like a smaller copper version of the silver drachma. Weight: 1.2g The second one seems to be a central Asian shahrukhi. 4.7g. Not the best grade, but it'd be good to know what it is. Thanks. Report this Post to the Staff

My money's on ancient forgery - the Western Satraps did produce lead/copper coins, but not using the same layout as the drachms. One-off Indian imitations are rare, but they exist.
