Hello CCF. I found what I believe to be a small date Floating Roof. Looking for opinions and if so the possible value. Thanks in advance.

Hello Dan. Definitely looks like a floating roof. From my research and what I've found is that to have a premium the floating roof needs to be combined with the COMPLETE absence of the designer's initials (FG). PCGS does recognize the 1969-D No FG variety but I don't believe there is anything mentioned for just a floating roof. A very high quality 69-D No FG does carry a small premium. I believe the cause of a floating roof, and the absence of the designer's initials, has been explained in the past as an over-polished die issue. These are still pretty cool and can definitely be found in the wild, sometimes often. Hope this helps.

Thanks Scuba1. Everything I've seen says it's a small date. What's your take? Here another pic.

It's a large date. Here's a side by side I pulled from the web, but I think this is Coop's image.

Also the statue has left the building. Typical owner polished example. Just a die event.
