How is that horrible? One should always collect what they want to collect, not what the mint (or an album maker or any other entity) wants them to collect. Collecting choices are personal. I have no problem if you happen to like all of the choices the mint has given us recently. I will probably still collect them from change as I have always done. In the end, a collector should do whatever makes him or her happy!

OK, want a real challenge? Try collecting one of everything the Royal Canadian Mint puts out in the last couple decades, just circulation issues for starters. I dares ya...double dares ya.

Quote: county quarters next! I think Congressional District Quarters would be better. Just like Stephen Colbert's 'Better Know A District'. I can think of enough things to put on coins to keep the Mint engravers working overtime for the next ten years. If we are going to get crazy lets go all-out... I want a series of "Also-ran" coins - (a coin depicting the nominee that lost each election. Could also be accompanied by a 1/2 oz gold coin with their running mate)

I'd like to see a "memorable moment of each presidency" half dollar series

Well I think it is our civic duty to collect ALL of these new coins. With the profits congress will be able to bail out who knows maybe the makers of TINKER-TOYS. Or Obama's NEW,NEW, Deal. As for myself I have the Raven gene that I must obey And who Knows after the great metal melt of 2025 (they wont let us mine anymore ) they may have some intrinsic value That we can pass on to our grandchildren. I am just going to stick with my 1909 through 1915 Lincoln cents. That is enough to keep up with.

If they put it in the proof sets, I'll have some. Sure is nice to know we will have choices for the foreseeable future.

I always buy a proof set each year so I will always have whatever comes out from the mint, regardless of how many different reverse designs there are for each denomination.
I'll leave collecting each mint mark from every year to the sets I really am focusing on. Thats my take on it.

I agree with jbuck. We should collect what we like and ignore the rest. I think another 10 year quarter series is completely asinine, but we can just ignore them and use them as money instead of collectibles. I just hope they won't be as ugly as some of the State Quarters....

I think someone took our joke a little too seriously... By the way, when's release for the DC Quarter? ( or the first one?)

I'm waiting for the Hamilton-Burr duel memorial dollar piece. Can't wait to see what they put on that one.
Seriously ... I can see the Lower Falls on the Yellowstone quarter, for example. But other parks ... I don't even want to go there. Geographically AND numismatically speaking!
