I've got 3. I know of only 3 others. Check out my poor scanning ability. Snooba , I dont know if Yass has included me as part of the exclusive group that owns a 1985 Rabbit Ear, I also have a very close mate that also has found one. He is also on the money about how bloody hard they are to find, we have 10 Mules yet only the solitary 1985 Rabbit, as an estimate mate we have looked through well over a Million coins. Yass I noticed you mention the Mule swap for the rabbit ear (from memory this happened in Canberra if I am correct at the dinner) I do believe the individual you speak off wasnt Joking.! For gods sake please sell him one so he stops asking for ours. Cheers all

Yep, that's him. I was refering to you when I mentioned knowing someone who had an '85. It seems you have 1, your mate has one, I have 3 and in recent correspondence, a fellow in Tassie has one. That's 6. I did raise the question of what one was worth in the Aussie forum. I know that they are probably only graded Fine at best, but I thought they'd be worth more that $50 (if I recall correctly). As you pointed out, we've searched through many, many thousands of $1s. In that time I've found 4 mules. And there is no shortage of others who have also found a few. However, only 6 '85 rabbits. You never see them advertised. They've gotta be worth more than $50. With regard to our mate in Melbourne, he might have been nearly serious, but I don't think his missus was impressed . I've nearly sent him one on a few occassions, but like most collectors, my hands started shaking with the thought of parting with one of my 'children'.

ha ha ha ha , it is easy to part with Yass just place it in the envelope and put it in the mail box . Nah I know what you mean there are somethings I would not part with as well. Havent had the joy of finding the 2006 as yet, they are starting to trickle into Melbourne, but no errors as yet . Snooba the second one I find is yours

The 1985 still ELUDES me but the 2006 Rabbit ears and a few other 2006 errors NOW live in Indiana!!! Guess I will have to figure out how to get the 85 sent up here from way down there? I am also still working the MOB or Roos proof and I am finding that will be a tough set to finish as well. All in all collecting Aussie coins has been quite rewarding and making friends from the Great Down Under is just icing on the cake!!! I can't thank the Aussie collectors enough for sharing, caring, trading and selling to us Kangarooless Yanks!!! I am just glad we have a few coins up here that they are currently interested in so that trading is possible. Getting ready to send a huge pile of unc. Statehood Quarters to the down under so apparently there is a market for them down there! You Aussies KNOW who you are so this big THANK YOU is for YOU. Rggoodie started all of this!!! (Have to blame someone for my addiction)

I'll gladly take the blame
but shortly I am going rabbit hunting 1st hand.
I too need the 85's I am just wondering what I should use to hunt these rabbits with.
I have tried 22s and a 12 gauge but I think this type of rabbit can only be lured out of its lair with a stack of polymer 20's or maybe 50's or 100's

I don't know Richard. I'm inclined to think you would have more success with the gun!

That's the problem when you have to deal with collectors and not their spouses .
