They're very long, I thought my nice choice UNC 2006 I found was the bomb, but the length of the Cud is only half of what they are.

In my noodling experience, $2 Rim Cuds are more numerous than $1 ones.

I have been noodling lots of $1 coins over the past year, and have only come up with a few rim Cuds. My best one is about half the length of nancyc's 2 dollar coins. I wonder if the small size and the thickness of the 2 dollar coin has anything to do with the greater frequency and development of rim Cuds in this denomination ? Squire

Quote:I wonder if the small size and the thickness of the 2 dollar coin has anything to do with the greater frequency and development of rim Cuds in this denomination ? It's hard to say. I couldn't begin to guess how many of each coin I noodled, but there were about 4-5 times as many $1 Coins, so just the fact that I have 44 x $2 and 49 x $1 ones, indicates that they occur less frequently on $1 coins. I noodled all coins before they went into the till at the shop, and any coins passed over as payment went into a separate container under the counter to be counted and then noodled when I got home. There was one customer who used to save all his coins for me and bring them in about once a month, and the majority of those were $1 as well, so the percentage of $1 would have actually been higher. In addition, I sometimes got $1000 x $1 to noodle just for fun. I probably did that about 4 or 5 times, but the only $2 coins I noodled were what I got from the Bank for the shop, no extras at all. I think whether the size of the coin or the thickness has any bearing on how often the Rim Cuds occur is anybody's guess.

wow nancyc, you are really tapping into the "cash flow" I sometimes wish I could do that too. Just occasional visits to the bank for me though . With the enormous numbers of $1 coins that you have noodled through, any luck in finding a "mule" ?. Squire

Quote: any luck in finding a "mule" Sadly no. My only mule was purchased for me for Christmas a couple years ago by my son, along with a wavy. Best Christmas pressie ever! I've recently acquired a second mule, but it won't get here for another week or so. I don't noodle any more, oh, except change from shopping. Since Jan 2011, I've had 1 x $100 bag of 5c and that was a real chore. I still haven't returned them to the Bank.
