Need Help Identifying Possibly WW1 Era, Possibly Germanic Coin

Saltarello New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 04/15/2021 9:44 pm I am attempting to identify this coin. It came to us in a batch of coins from my father-in-law's safety deposit box. The other coins in the box were mostly Prussian/Germanic states, ranging from 1712 to 1918. We surmise that they came from Europe with my husband's grandfather, either when he emigrated, when he returned from WWI, or a combination. This was the only coin I have not been able to identify. It is tiny, VERY thin, and ferrous (it sticks to a magnet.) Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you! Report this Post to the Staff

Eligius Valued Member Netherlands 176 Posts	Posted 04/16/2021 03:48 am Not a coin but a piece of childrens play money, modeled after a 1873 -1916 German Mark. Probably made around 1920 because it is iron. Earlier, pre WWI ones, were usually made of copper or brass. Other values were made as well, using other coins as an example.
