What do you mean the copper coated ones? I know that there are a dozen or so that were minted on bronze planchets, but some were copper plated steel?

I had a thread about my newest collection so I essentially did a cut and paste on why I selected it. I started to look into Franklins. They are a in a relatively short series, so assembling a collection won't be too difficult. There were millions minted so the availability for decent grades is not out of control. I think it's an attractive coin. I have strong ties to Philly. Ben's my son's name and I've always been a fan of Franklin as a statesman and inventor. And they have just as much silver content as other pre 1965 halves.

Well I got into coin collecting when I started buying the Silver Eagles. But now am hooked on the entire hobby. I roll hunt Cents, Nickles, Dimes and Quarters. I am also trying to put together a Lincoln 1090-Date Cent set. I'm also thinking about buying a 7070 type set album.

I started w/ dollars I like them cuz I can read the year w/out my magnifing glass :)

and I am now doing halfs when I find them

and I have started on Cents cuz they are cheap and always offer a hope at finding an old one

lets get real dollar coins getting and old one is a 79 SBA whoopie!

and I am now doing 4 rolls of LMCs a night
