Oh, another questions, lol....is there a different number of dots on the large bead dollar coins (1966) and the small bead dollar coins (1966)?

Hi again,
Anyone from Ontario, Canada (Hamilton area) know of a place where one could sell this dollar coin and verify that it does have the small beads? I don't collect coins so I would rather sell it.
Thanks for any help received.

The EASIEST way to tell if you have the small bead version is to do this: Compare the periods after D.G. to the beads around the rim. If the beads around the rim are larger than the periods, you have the LARGE BEAD version. If the beads around the rim are smaller than the periods, congratulations you have the SMALL BEAD version.

The easiest way I know of is to just look at the beads and bead spacing. If it looks like you can almost fit another bead in the gap, it's a small beads. If the gap is very small relative to the bead size, it's a large beads.

^^^ I agree.

Also, another example of a failure of the various books to provide this value added. The best ways never seem to get into print.

I've just found this conversation. It's great, I have never seen in person a small dots 66. I'll be going through my proof like sets this weekend. There is a good picture available on Coins and Canada.

Hi

I have several 1965/66 canada silver dollars two of which appear different to the rest. I was wondering if anyone on here knows where I could go in Ireland to have these looked at?

Thanks

Curiouskat and mrcanada both show the large beads silver dollar.Check ebay for the 1965 silver dollar small beads than compare with the large beads dollar and you will see a big difference also the other markers mentioned here as well.
